It is with sadness that we have learnt of the death of former Penryn player Vernon Parkin who died suddenly while visiting his son in the US.

Vernon was a hard running, feisty centre who played for Penryn in the sixties and seventies. He played numerous times for Cornwall including in the County Championship final against Lancashire in 1969. Vernon also played for Cardiff College of Education, Bristol and Coventry.

Our thoughts and condolences to his wife Pat and three sons Nathan, Morgan and Owen.
