Crediton RFC
Penryn RFC

Penryn Ladies travelled to Crediton Ladies looking to continue their unbeaten season. Penryn Ladies knew Crediton Ladies were going to be a tough team to beat. In the morning the game was moved to another pitch, located down the road from the main clubhouse.

Penryn Ladies kicked off deep into Crediton Ladies 22, instantly putting pressure on. Penryn Ladies scored 4 quick tries making it 0-22. Crediton Ladies suddenly started to play some very good rugby, competing at the rucks and running some excellent lines. Crediton Ladies got 2 tries back making it 12-22 at half time bringing them right back into the game. With Crediton Ladies playing so well Penryn Ladies had a lot to do in the second half. Shortly after the break an injury caused the game to be stopped and both teams had to go back to the club to play the remaining half an hour. Play was resumed with a Penryn Ladies scrum on the half way line. Both teams exchanged some big hits, then Crediton Ladies ran in a well worked try making the score 19-22. Penryn Ladies spent a long time camped on Crediton Ladies try line but their defence held strong. Then came the best passage of the game, Penryn Ladies forwards won a scrum against the head and this released the backs with Penryn Ladies scoring in the corner. With three minutes left on the clock Penryn Ladies regathered the kick off and ran down the clock.

The final score was 19-27. This was the hardest game of the season so far for Penryn Ladies and they rose to the occasion very well. Players of the match were Sarah Stovell and Lauren Chenoweth.

Penryn Ladies now look forward to their next game against Bude away on 1st December.

Try Scorers were Sarah Stovell (2), Bethany Hampton, Lauren Chenoweth and Annie McKelvey who also converted.
