Penryn Ladies were on the road again for a big derby game, travelling to Bude Ladies, who are the only other Cornish team in the league. With key players missing today, Penryn Ladies were forced to play people out of position. Penryn Ladies received the first kick off, gathering it well they set off up the pitch, only to be met by a solid Bude Ladies defence. After this Penryn Ladies knew they were in for a tough afternoon. Penryn Ladies went through the phases well and got within 5 metres of Bude Ladies line. With one last push Penryn Ladies piled over the line for the first try. Penryn Ladies were caught offside on several occasions, which in turn allowed Bude Ladies to gain good territory but Penryn Ladies defence stood strong. Penryn Ladies crossed for another try before half time making it 0-10. Injuries forced Penryn Ladies into more changes at halftime.
Penryn Ladies kicked the ball deep into Bude Ladies 22 at the restart. The game carried on where it left off with both teams making massive hits. Penryn Ladies forwards were overpowering Bude Ladies pack in the scrums, giving the backs good attacking ball. As time went on Penryn Ladies were getting better and better, with the backs running great lines and creating space.
Penryn Ladies scored a further 6 tries making it 0-44 at full time. The score doesn’t reflect the determination of a good Bude Ladies side making it a tough game.
