Totnes RFC

0 - 58

(HT 0-0)

Penryn RFC

Totnes Ladies kicked off and Penryn Ladies quickly gathered the kick off and put the pressure on straight away. Going through the phases well Penryn Ladies found themselves on Totnes Ladies’ 5 metre line, a few pick and go’s and Penryn Ladies crossed for their first try.

Penryn Ladies continued to put the pressure on and went through their game plan well, with Sarah Stovell and Annie McKelvey crossing for multiple tries. Totnes Ladies came back strong towards the end of the first half but Penryn Ladies defence stayed strong and the first half ended 0-36.

Totnes Ladies began the second half the way they ended the first, fighting hard and pushing forward. Penryn Ladies’ forwards were dominating the scrums, which gave the backs good ball. Penryn Ladies didn’t panic and slowly began to regain control of the game. Forward Megan Shroff ran in to score her first try in a Penryn shirt.

Penryn Ladies ended the game strongly and the final score was 0-58.  It was good to get back to winning ways.

The Borough Ladies will play Crediton Ladies at home next weekend, which will be another tough match.

Forward of the match went to Frankie Rickard, who lead the pack, with some great runs and making great decisions at the rucks. Special mention to all the forwards who put in an outstanding shift with their excellent set piece work and turning over ball at the breakdown.

Back of the match went to scrum half Steph Trapp, who again organised the forwards and backs very well and for making some incredible runs and tackles.

Penryn Ladies would also like to say thank you to Marz, Caitlin, Leona and Teri for travelling with us and being excellent water girls/first aiders and of course linesman! A real team effort! ❤🖤
