Penryn RFC are delighted to announce Gareth Tedstone will become Head of Colts Rugby, as part of the development pathway.
Head of youth rugby at Penryn RFC, Leigh Weaver, said “With a remit to link the core ideals of the senior teams to the Colts, Under 16’s, 15’s & 14’s, we believe this is a true testament to us developing a pathway that all the players across all the age groups can aim for. Gareth brings a wealth of knowledge to the role having worked with Truro Collage, Redruth RFC, Cornwall County Squads & the present Penryn RFC first Team. We’re delighted to welcome Gareth to his new role.”
“Our coaching pathway continues to evolve, this season will see the Under 14’s, 15’s & 16’s work closer with one another & the colt’s team. This will enable us to develop our best coaching practice, prepare those teams for the County Cup at Under 16’s level, identify those players that should be pushing for County honours & most importantly future Penryn first Team players” he added.
Gareth also spoke of his excitement to begin the new role. “I’m really excited to take this role of Head of Colts Rugby. The youth section have done fantastic work building a succession of teams ready to build a colts team for this coming season. Stepping into the role allows a strong link between the youth and senior squads being built. Which is vital part of creating a successful and sustainable future for the club.”
